Emotional Emotions......

I've asked you to leave when I entered the room

You said "Not now"  "I'm Leaving"  "Soon" ??

I covered my face so I wouldn't have to see your pain

But even with my eyes closed... I felt your shame

I thought I had this handled and everything was under control

But you overpowered me... you were just being cold

I didn't want to show my true feelings, I felt they didn't need to be seen

That's when you shut me out. You always have a problem coming clean

Why do you surface when all I prefer is for you to hide

But then I realized, It was only my pride

I've asked you to go away and never come back

And it's Not because.... Strength I Lack!

You're Sad, Loving, Lusting, Confident and Patient all at the same time

A little Confusing...YES....But it's fine

Feelings are meant to be felt but I don't know how to let them be

I don't trust her to know, I don't want him to see

To bad these feelings are non-negotiable

It's just so hard dealing with Emotions that are so Damn Emotional !!!!! :)



Love Locked Away

I cried when I heard that you were given time

I knew in my heart that you would be fine

But what about me? How will I survive

With my Love Locked Away for Two to Five

In some cases it may be longer than that

No matter what, I will always have your back

Some of you may not understand why we do what we do

But it comes with the territory, always stay true

4 to 10 hour bus rides for a 6 hour visit

Then you say to yourself... is it really worth it?

Making it home in time for those calls to come through

Then depression kicks in.... Another lonely night with out you

The precautions we take ensure your stability

Judgement from Family and Friends on your credibility

Putting money on your books and sending your monthly package

Without a second thought, on how will I manage

But I do, because of who I am

Not because I'm a desperate chick trying to hold on to a man

Don't be so quick to Judge if you've never walked in our shoes

We lived by the code and followed all the rules

To All my Ladies with a Love Locked Away

Be "True to the Game" If He's worth it....... STAY!

A talent that has never let me down

Finding your Strength in the ways of your world

Never second guess what you feel to be right

Never entertain someone who always wants to fight

We were taught to shine with every thing we do

But as we grow old, some of us act as if we don't have a clue

Believe all that's in your heart

If the time comes to let it go don't be afraid of a new start

Don't become complacent especially when  you know your meant to do more

Either you walk away or show her the door

Finding your strength when all you want to do is give up

Call in your reinforcements, Try your luck

Choose to be happy even if your goal is out of reach

Beware of certain people better known as a leach

Find your inner strength because you have no choice

And with your everyday confidence let them hear your voice

To when we were kids and everything was fine.

Kids played double dutch and freeze tag on the block.

Never having to watch our back or have a fear of being shot.

Don't you wish that all of your dreams came true.

Because you gave it all you had and did what you needed to do.

Travel when you wanted and saw what you needed to see.

And you actually grew up to be what you wanted to be.

Don't you wish that your heart was never broken.

You married who you wanted and love was just unspoken.

You prayed for the best and the best was given.

And you valued your life and never stopped living.

Don't you wish your loved ones stayed around forever.

And family was always there to make everything better.

Imagine people meant what they said and said what they meant.

Treasured their loved ones and time was always well spent.

Tomorrow's not promised and neither is today.

Thoughts of love and healing should run through your veins everyday.

Always reflect on your past because it shaped your present.

Embrace your today and stop living with resent.

The Truth.......My Truth

I embraced The Truth at 19 years old

An overnight conversation and I was sold

Sold on Love at such a young age

And a few years later, we were engaged

We've been through our ups and downs and have weathered the storm

A relationship that could get through anything in rare form

A unity, A bond, someone that has always met me half way

The man that I still Love till this very day

Who would of known that we would still be together

Eight years married and Sixteen years later

A personal, universal and unconditional Love

Could only be created by the Man up above

You are The Truth and I am a reflection of you

A couple that's so much a like... I guess that's the reason we said I Do!

He's not perfect and neither am I, with a love that's real, who really needs Proof?

A word that's often used to warn us from the Dangers up ahead

Don't you wish it was used before some people say what they've said

Don't be so quick to judge, you don't know what some people may be going through

A critical tongue will not help them and it definately won't help you

The people who promise's to always be by your side

Why when you seem to need them most....They tend to hide?

Be cautious of who you let in your world.

Who you call your Best-Friend, Who claims to be your Girl

Try to give people the Benefit of the doubt, to always believe in their best

But don't let that be your weakness, maybe this is all just a test

Never give away your power, especially in situations you can not control

Being able to deal with difficult people and difficult times.....will get easier as we grow old

Have a forgiving heart, even to those who do not deserve

Be willing to embrace the process.... because of whom you serve

Caution signs are displayed everyday, we just have to pay more attention

A Childhood crush, your High School Sweetheart

We met on the Internet, we met through a friend

But it wasn't you..... That relationship came to an end

We were in a committed relationship, but we didn't always agree

I thought you were the one but I had to set you free

We met as children, you were the one I wanted to marry

But my parents forbade us.. They said we would never be happy

We met at work or at a Family function

I thought we were flirting, but that was my wrong assumption

We had a child together and eventually got married

And we are actually staying together for all the right reasons

Her 1st Birthday is on the 11th..... Mom..She's getting so Big

And you know me... I take Life one day at a time

No matter what's thrown at me I will always be fine

Even though for a few years you had to play both Mommy and Daddy

We appreciate everything you've done to make us who we are today!
